Early morning on the 28th of May a snow storm brought a tree down across the road. I was the first car through the deep snow and dangerous road, so I was the first on scene at the impasse. After the situation was called in, and the timeframe was clear, I decided that I should try and open a lane of traffic myself. My Subaru Outback and a tow strap did much of the work, and what they could not tackle my hatchet and some man power were able to handle. I cleared a path and the cars that had begun to arrive were able to make it into the Hayden Valley. One hour later the park service had both lanes clear; but they had trucks and chain saws :)
